Meet Errol.
This is hands down one of the best restorations I've seen to date. A fully documented restoration was undertaken in 2024, this included the replacement of many panels including new floors, sills inner & outer, door steps, inner wings, wings, valance, A panels, bonnet, rear valance, boot floor, door skins and the list goes on. The panel gaps are better than when he left the factory. A bare metal respray was then undertaken in stunning Vermillion red (yes i know it looks orange but on the scale its officially a red according to Austin). The decision was taken very early on to restore it to factory spec, in fact better! So everything else is either new, new old stock or the originals that have been refurbished (but only if they made the grade). The original front subframe was in great condition and was treated to a complete strip down and total rebuild with all new parts, the rear subframe was too far gone so was replaced with a brand new heritage one and built up with all new parts. This Mini is as good underneath and it is on top, total perfection. You will not find a better example. Of course he sits on a brand new set on 10 inch steel wheels with centre caps!
Under the bonnet sits his original engine that has had the full treatment. So completely stripped, dipped, rehoned etc. Then built up with everything new. The gearbox has had the same treatment. He feels like new! All the running gear and ancillaries have been replaced with new, all new braking system, all new suspension, you get the idea....... this is a no expense spared restoration.
Internally the theme continues, his original interior has been completely redone by the best in the business and presents perfectly. Matching seats, door cards etc. All new black carpets, roof lining and his original door furniture was good enough to be re used. Simplicity is key in the early Minis. The only extra that has been added is the stunning Mota Lita wooden rimmed steering wheel, that just lifts him above the rest. I do have his original if you'd rather that.
There is nothing more you could want from a fully restored 1970's Mini! Flys along and feels like new.
