Meet Yab.
Where do we start with this little beast!
A total and comprehensive restoration has just been completed by the very well respected Colin Davis. Over 300 hours in panel and paint work has gone into Yab to create the perfect Mini you see before you. Over 100 photos of the restoration process come with him. The panel gaps and lines are better than when he left the factory. He's been strengthened in a few areas such as door hinges & jacking points and is cavity waxed and undersealed. A 1973 MK3 Mini that's painted in teal blue with an old English white contrasting roof. Also just had a 5 year ceramic treatment added to keep him shining! Sitting on 10 inch old English white painted Cooper rims that are wrapped in period Blockley tyres, he looks great. All other accessories are new stainless steel and present perfectly. He retains his original glass, badges and even comes with his original plates.
Under the bonnet sits his original now punchy 998cc engine. Some of the work includes a 12g295 head thats fully worked, Kent 266 cam, flat top pistons and a fresh worked carb. Lots of MED parts, race cam followers, timing plate, timing cover etc. Gearbox has had an upgrade also including centre oil pick up, ATB diff paired to a performance road clutch and ultra light flywheel & backplate. Competition output shafts, sump guard, billet filter head kit and damper kit are just a few of the other upgrades. Race alternator and starter. Cooling is aided by a Fletcher ali rad. Both subframes where stripped, blasted and powder coated, then built up with fresh parts. Hell braided brake lines all round, a 7.5 inch Cooper disc conversion with Mintex pads and Superfin rear hubs take care of the stopping requirements. KYB shocks, Hi-Los, adjustable heavy duty tie rods and lower arms to the front and adjustable rear camber kit plus competition red dot cones means he's ready for anything. LCB manifold and a full exhaust that sounds fantastic finishes him off perfectly. Recently (Dec 24) rolling road set up making 48 bhp & 55 ibft means he's ready to go, worth mentioning there's plenty more in him.
Internally black is the theme, classic bucket seats take centre stage and are very comfy plus matching rear seats. Black carpets but only to 2/3rds as Colins paint job has to be seen! His original centre binnacle houses all the important info, speed, fuel, water temp and oil pressure gauges. A brand new Mountney dark wooden rim steering wheel is a thing of beauty. Yellow SMCO visors are a cool modern addition and set the whole thing off. Everything else is his original parts and adds to that warm feeling.
Over £30,000 has gone into this build meaning that he's the best you'll find! He's perfect base for a cafe racer Mini. If you don't fancy Yab you can opt for the £9,000 TAX FREE cash alternative.
