Meet Roj.
I am very pleased to offer a rare eighties Limited edition Mini, with only 74 currently on the road! This Austin Mini Advantage which goes by the name of Roj was first launched in France in May 1987 to coincide with the French open, the Mini Advantage also appeared in the UK in June of that year to be available during the Wimbledon championships. Originally the name was to be the Mini Wimbledon, to match the London theme names on other models of the time but the All England Lawn Tennis Association would not allow this use of name with a tennis themed styling. Only 2500 of these were made for the UK market.
Finished in Diamond white with contrasting Nimbus grey bumpers, grille and mirrors. they also featured “Advantage” decals along the sides and boot, side opening windows, tinted glass and a rev counter. These fantastic editions are rarely seen especially in unrestored and in their original spec. This Advantage has only covered 47k in 34 years and has been in the same family since new. Firstly registered through their business and then privately. It was supplied new by P.J Evans in Birmingham and remarkably still has both its original dealer plates and rear window sticker. It is also accompanied with a fully stamped service book and a detailed service history folder pointing to a cherished life. It is presented in its original specification and is a joy to behold.
On the road this Mini drives very well. The low mileage 998 (40 BHP) engine pulls well through the precise gearbox and it will easily keep up with modern traffic. Four new Falken tyres means the handling is pin sharp and disc brakes means it stops as well as it goes. This Advantage has no modifications and offers that unique eighties Mini driving experience which always makes me smile.
The interior is very well presented and again as it left the factory. The Advantage theme continues with Flint grey seats with green flashes and tennis ball logo. The original carpets and roof liner are also both in very good condition. This Advantage has also rear seat belts fitted which is an added bonus. When it was brand new the stereo was upgraded to a Blaupunkt “New York” radio cassette player and matching speakers and the original box and instructions are still with it.
This Advantage has a fantastic body shell with its original front wings, front panel, boot floor and floor pans. It has the correct original vented sills and solid subframes. The shell has been very well cared for. The paintwork as you can see is very well presented and it will make its new owner very proud indeed.
We have fully serviced, tuned and checked Roj, he has a long MOT so is ready to be driven and enjoyed. He's the perfect standard Mini to keep that way as only going one way in value or indeed a great base to modify from.
Opening offer 72 hours only.
