Say hello to Filbert.

He's a 1980 built Mini 850 that is ex military (these are exceptionally rare) and decommissioned in 1984. From 1984 to 2018 he was with the same lady owner.

He was totally refreshed a few years ago, this included only one panel replacement, a new rear valance everything else body wise is original (shows how well cared for Filbert has been). Several new coats of his original Brookland green paint and he presents like new. Bumpers have been re chromed, all new grill and surround plus everything else being refurbished. All new seals and brand new black wiper kit finishes him off. The charm just oozes from Filbert.

Under the bonnet sits his original 848cc engine that has just been totally overhauled with all new parts the gearbox and clutch has had the same treatment. The addition of an LCB manifold and Sportex full exhaust system means this 850 mini sounds fantastic and pulls extremely well. Hi Los are amongst some of the other upgrades. Literally starts and drives perfectly and feels like a new car! The original wheels refurbished of course have just been wrapped in fresh Falken rubber.

Internally he remains pretty much standard, the simplicity is just perfect! The only upgrade is the 3 dial centre binnacle that includes working oil pressure, water temperature gauges and of course speedo and fuel gauge. The now mega rare 1275 GT grey stripe interior just looks awesome. Brand new black carpets and all original black doors cards and matching black door furniture finish Filbert off perfectly.

These ex military minis are super rare and this one comes with tonnes of history including its original bill of sale. The most charming mini to date and has just 3 owners from new! This is a true British icon!
