Yes, this is really happening....... Meet Lightning our Christmas day Z cars EPIC!

I have been looking for a Z cars Mini for over 2 years but have never found one that's up to our impeccable stands here at UKMinis.

Body:

Fully restored and strengthened 1972 Mini shell. Z cars race spec Vtec kit conversion with stiffer & stronger roll cage. This kit incorporates crossed door bars and is fully welded. Z cars front subframe kit, this replaces the conventional mini front subframe with a much lighter and stiffer structure that also gives the benefit of coil springs and adjustable dampers (more on that later). Painted in the stunning shade of smoke grey (BU15) with a contrasting black roof & mirrors (BK1). Lightning is dripping in carbon fibre, carbon doors, bonnet, boot & Z cars arches look bonkers as well as saving lots of weight over their metal counterparts. Perspex side windows, rears windows (with special heat outlets) and rear screen all add to the weight saving theme. 13 x 7 Minilights in black & wrapped in Yoko A359 175/50r tyres look mega. Billet alloy rear trailing arms and driveshaft kits are also upgrades. Fully adjustable suspension thats been freshly setup recently. You cant miss the MK1 grill and rear lights plus stainless steel bumpers.

Engine & Gearbox:

Z cars rear mounted and RWD Honda K20a engine & 6 speed LSD gearbox kit! This includes the legendary Honda k20 engine with standard wiring loom plus alternator, starter motor, inner CV joints and all required mounts. Z cars performance exhaust which is a Simpson race exhaust 4-2-1 system (sounds incredible) Z cars Pipercross induction kit. Upgraded fuel system that inlcudes Z cars large capacity fuel tank, Bosch high injection pump, silicone pipes and all the required clips etc for fitting. The cooling system is another Z cars upgraded kit which includes a bigger radiator, header tank the already mentioned silicone hoses plus extra fans & aluminium fixings. Hydra programable ECU with Vtec controller. A brand new dry cell battery has just been added. All of this results in a spectacular 220 BHP & 227.6 NM torque through the rear wheels. 0-60 in 3 and a bit seconds and a quarter mile time of 12 seconds!

Brakes:

Front brakes is the Z cars 256mm big brake kit which comprises of billet aluminium bells & mounting brackets, 256mm grooved & vented discs, Willwood powerlite calipers, upgraded pads and all braided hoses. The rear brakes are the Z cars Willwood 4 pot calipers with handbrake. Tilton adjustable pedal assembly with remote bias adjustment all add to the race car feel.

Interior:

Light weight Cobra Monaco Pro bucket seats in black with contrasting white stitching mounted to the Z cars aluminium seat brackets. Blue 4 point FIA approved harnesses keep you glued in your seat. Z cars full carbon dash houses the Digi dash lite from ETB instruments, this is a work of art in itself and gives you all the information you could ever wish for plus more (lap timings etc). Lots of custom switches including the heated windscreen, lights, wipers, wash & USB connection. Push button start, Sparco black suede removable steering wheel with centre marker, carbon door cards with nets, alloy gear knob, alloy door furniture, alloy foot rests all add to the race car feel. A fully welded roll cage in metallic grey is a work of art. Of course the engine is behind the seats so theres no need for a heating system but there is also a fire divider cover for the engine bay and a perspex divider for a little less noise if you required it.

This is our greatest ever Mini to date, the invoices that come with this car are eye watering. He's got a massive history file and has traveled just 5766 miles since completion. Ive never been in a car quite like this, its absolutely BONKERS and completely useable at the same time!
