Meet Toad! A British racing green over tan Mini Cooper!
He's a 1992 Rover Mini Cooper. He of course sports the most famous name in Mini history, COOPER, which means he feels that little extra special.
Having been FULLY restored with a bare metal respray and the replacement of door skins and a few other small areas. He's wearing British Racing Green paint with contrasting white roof, bonnet stripes & decals (the best combination in my opinion). Finished with all the usual chrome accessories and these are all brand new. Topped off with brand new 12 inch Superlight alloy wheels in silver wrapped in Yokohama A539 rubber and of course the all important Cooper badging. Spot the Wipac extra 4 lamps, these help with lighting the road up plus they look mega.
Interior wise from factory Coopers were by far the best spec Mini's ever but Toad is a completely different level to standard. Upgraded C&S Custom Upholstery full tan leather interior, this truly is a a masterpiece! Extremely supple leather trimmed tan front and rear seats with the matching door cards, top & bottom dash rails! Plush new black carpets and upgraded Mota Lita wooden rimmed steering wheel (I do have a brand new centre boss to go on) just feel quality. Not forgetting the wooden dash with extra clocks housing all the important information. Toad also still retains his original Cooper gear knob and has all new upgraded alloy door furniture!
Under the bonnet we find a 1.3i. Coopers from this era were the single point injection version and is a 1.3 (1275cc) litre engine is a naturally aspirated, overhead valve, 4 cylinder that develops 62 bhp (63 PS/46 kW) of power at 5700 rpm, and maximum torque of 95 N·m (70 lb·ft/9.7 kgm) at 3900 rpm. Power is transmitted to the wheels via a 4 speed manual transmission. The kerb weight is 700 kg. It is claimed to manage a top speed of 148 km/h or 92 mph, official fuel consumption is 5.8/8.4/7.7 l/100km 90 km/h / 120 km/h / city. When being restored all the engine ancillary's where replaced with new items including alternator, upgraded silicone hoses, rad etc. The addition of adjustable suspension with KYB shocks means it rides lovely. Also a Mini must have upgrade with our awful roads is the sump guard. These have a fantastic sound and pull along very nicely, he has a comprehensive service and MOT history which confirms the mileage. A fresh MOT and full service means he is show ready. New 4 pot alloy callipers, discs, pad and upgraded braided hoses take care of all the stopping requirements. Plenty more new parts including a full Play Mini exhaust system that sounds fantastic.
These are now very valuable Minis and are certain to be the futures most collectible Minis. So why not get in the mix to win this appreciating British icon. He's an exceptionally well cared for example in the ultimate colour combination!
