Having started life in 1992 he presents a totally different beast today.

The builder of this Mini had a very clear brief from the outset, lots of power and handling capabilities with period looks. A very solid low mileage shell was picked as the base project and then some light restoration was undertaken, this included new floors and a few other small repairs then a fresh coat of white paint. The addition of group 2 black arches in contrasting black, custom bonnet scoop and custom decals in the colour theme of black & gold were added along with bullet mirrors. 6x10inch Superlight polished gold alloys wrapped in sticky Yoko A032r tyres look awesome. Upgraded headlights with race tape, clear lens kit and 4 spot lamps (2 being fog lamps and 2 being main beam) and the black grill look mega. All new chrome was added. Spot the full length Webasto roof which transforms the driving experience when open.

Internally the decision was made to backdate the feel, the standout thing being the Cobra classic bucket seats in black, Cooper door cards with storage pockets and matching rear seats, black carpets and door furniture are just perfect. A centre clock conversion with speedo, water temp and rev counter houses all the info you need. Astrali black leather and alloy steering wheel along with the KAD quick shifter nod to the get up and go of Baxter.

Under the bonnet sits what can only be described as a master piece. A 1380cc Jonspeed Stage 3 built engine and gearbox. A+ block bored to 73.5mm, fitted with new core plugs and oil gallery plugs MiniSpares mega 73.5mm pistons fitted to A+ balanced rods, Crank reground and polished, ACL bearings - Mains +020, Big ends +020, 1275 thrust washer set +.006 and balanced with flywheel and clutch assy. Centre main strap used. Kent 286 slot drive camshaft with new cam bearings and cam followers fitted with duplex timing gear kit and steel faced slot drive oil pump, Verto flywheel and clutch assembly running Turbo Clutch Kit and Pre Engaged Ring Gear. 1275 12G940 casting Stage 3 ported and polished cylinder head fitted with 36mm inlet valves and 31mm exhaust valves. New hardened lead free inserts fitted to all exhaust seats, new valve guides and oil seals and new 200lbs double valve springs running standard sintered type rocker assembly and 1275 push rods. Head is faced top and bottom for optimised compression ratio. A Hiff 44 carb with K&N cone air filter paired to a 3 branch Manifold and full stainless exhaust sounds awesome. Fully reconditioned A+ gearbox using new baulk rings, double roller bearing, single roller bearing, needle bearings and central oil pickup pipe. Differential rebuilt with new comp diff pin, new planet gears, new bronze mica thrust washers and new fibre thrust washers. New differential bearings used, differential fitted with 3.44:1 crown wheel and pinion. Compression ratio - 10.1:1 All this results in a punchy 110 bhp. Having just completed 600 miles running in it is ready to be opened up and used. The rest of the running gear is of the same level, 7.5 inch Cooper S disc and calliper conversion with carbon pads and braided brake lines takes care of all the stopping requirements. AGX adjustable shocks, red spot cones, Hi-Los and fully adjustable tie bars etc are set up for fast road use. Everything else is new, competition track rod ends, CV joints and bearing etc.
