A 1998 Japanese Mini Cooper was picked as the base project for this exceptional build. The shell was very good and only required some light restoration. It was loaded onto a spit and fully stripped back to bare metal both underneath and on top so the builder could start from scratch. The floor has been U-POL Raptored and painted, all the bodywork was etch-primed, 2k primed and then painted in BMC Smoke Grey inside and out. Again this Mini is as good underneath as it is on top. Contrasting gloss black and black Somerford group 2 arches work perfectly with the period look. All brand new shiny bits were added including wavy grille, old school bumper overriders and spot the custom bonnet with extra holes for more cooling and induction. Upgraded angel eye lights take care of lighting the road. Finally John Brown 6x10 Revolite alloys in contrasting black & silver wrapped in sticky Falken 165/70 were chosen and look mega!

The cabin treatment is as equally slick and sympathetic with freshly re-trimmed black vinyl seats with rear to match. Matching door cards and black early door furniture paired to brand new black carpets and a custom dash that houses all the important info including centre speedo with boost gauge, Barbarian AFR gauge and a lovely 11 inch Mountney black leather steering wheel. Oil pressure & water temp gauges are a few of the extras. Black top and bottom rails, early gear knob and a few custom security switches finish the interior off perfectly.

As if this wasn't a serious enough Mini already, under the bonnet it's taken into the stratosphere! A 1293cc turbocharged, T3 turbo, +.020 18cc Omega forged pistons,1.5 roller rockers, braced, lightened and balanced crank, dump valve (sounds epic) New shells and core plugs all MED, MED lightened fly wheel, RS turbo intercooler. Aldon locked dizzy, Aldon Amethyst ignition, OSIAS fuel pump, Playmini large bore exhaust. -38 actuator set to 16 psi producing a safe 150 bhp. Of course the gearbox has had the same treatment, central oil pickup, ATB diff, AP clutch. Suspension wise you'll find GAZ lowered adjustable, Hi-Los, adjustable tie rods with standard bottom arms. With all that go you need some extra stopping power and that's taken care of by front 7.5 inch Cooper S discs. Having done 500 miles since completion it's just run in and ready to be opened up. Has just had a fresh service.

Roccy is one of our craziest Mini's to date, he's got it all! "The past remastered, in fine and pleasing style" is the finishing line from the feature!
