Alfred (Alfie) isn't your standard Mini Cooper, he's a Mini magazine featured show stopper.
He started life on the 29.4.1991 and lend a wonder life, then he met Stewart Green when the body was more or less sound. He then underwent the amazing transformation that brings him to the Mini you see today.
He was repainted in Arum white with a Black roof fitted with group 2 arches and a very nice removable flip-front. lots of external chrome including MK1 grill, moustache bullet mirrors. He retains his original 5jx120inch Minilite alloys wrapped in Yokohama A359 tyres. At a glance this Cooper looks standard but look a little closer and you start to see the hints of what sits beneath.
Housed under the two piece flip-front we find a rather tasty looking, sounding and performing carb feed 1275cc, A-plus with double valve springs and stage 1 Minispeed kit. The engine has recently been rebuilt, rebored, polished crankshaft, new pistons, big end bearings and main bearings also replaced. Done about 250 miles since rebuild. He sounds epic and goes like stink. The engine is all paired to a standard gearbox. Standard Cooper brakes discs and drums paired with grooved and drilled discs. Suspension wise we have the expected Hi-Los and upgraded GAZ dampers.
Moving on to this cars showpiece, the interior is next level. Full custom retro style interior with Red and Grey vinyl seats, doorcards, Red carpets, grey seatbelts, drilled three-spoke Moto-Lita wooden steering wheel, ultimate six-clock dash with magnolia instrument faces housing all the important info, 500 style gearknob, alloy pedal extensions and alloy door furniture. The sunroof gives it that special spacious feeling. I could rant on about this interior.
All in all this is one of the best I have offered so far and is a credit to the talents of the builder. You'll be proud attending UKMinis Festival or any classic car show in this wonderful Mini.
Low numbers and a great price. Why not get in the mix to win this appreciating British icon.
